The Flint Institute of Music

The William C. Byrd Young Artist Competition is held annually at the J. Dallas Dort Music Center, home of the prestigious Flint Institute of Music located at 1025 E. Kearsley Street in the College and Cultural Center of Flint, Michigan.

Dedicated to providing performing arts programs and learning experiences for all ages, the Flint Institute of Music (FIM) has more than 300,000 visitors each year through the Flint Symphony Orchestra, Flint Youth Theatre and Flint School of Performing Arts. FIM receives support from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts. FIM is a non-profit organization and an Equal Opportunity Employer providing programs and services without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex or handicap. It is located between Mott Community College and the University of Michigan-Flint.
